Federowicz was released by the Dodgers in September after batting .200/.291/.371 with three home runs in 25 games (79 plate appearances) at Triple-A Oklahoma City. "After 14 years playing the game that I love, I have decided to call it a career," the 34-year-old catcher wrote on social media Tuesday. "As for what’s next, I have recently accepted a role to become the AAA manager for the Tacoma Rainiers. I am very excited about this opportunity and can’t wait to get started." He replaces Kristopher Negron, who was named first base coach of the Mariners this offseason.
