2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: Coming off a 107-game season in 2022, the 74 played in 2023 was certainly a down tick. Now, getting Sean Murphy added to your roster, and subsequently dealing with a concussion, will put you on the field less. d’Arnaud still had a decent year for a back-up catcher though with 11 homers, 39 RBI, 31 R, and a .225 AVG. Catchers aren’t typically known for their averages but even with that, d’Arnaud’s .225 mark was the lowest of his career for any season with at least 67 games played.
2024 Outlook: He will remain the back-up catcher behind Murphy in 2024, pending injury to the top backstop of course. That certainly limits the fantasy impact he’s likely to have. However, even with that said, in two catcher leagues, there is some flier appeal hear with a shot at 12-14 HR and a .245-.255 AVG.
