Andre Rienzo signed a minor league deal with the Padres.
Although Rienzo found success in the minor leagues last season (2.15 ERA through 32 1/3 innings), he struggled with the Marlins, as he owned a 5.90 ERA in 140 1/3 innings over the course of his career. He will get a fresh start with the Padres, but he clearly will have to prove himself to get back to the big league level.
Marlins RHP Andre Rienzo has been outrighted to Triple-A NOLA with an invite to Spring Training.
The Marlins designated Andre Rienzo for assignment last week but after clearing through waivers, the team elected to send him down to Triple-A New Orleans. He will be able to attend Spring Training but as a non-roster invitee.
Andre Rienzo was designated for assignment.
He has been a good but not great Triple-A pitcher, and a not so good MLB option. He will probably catch on with another team, but as a Triple-A option, so you can feel free to ignore him.
Marlins reinstated RHP Andre Rienzo from the disabled list.
Rienzo owns a 6.23 ERA over 10 1/3 innings pitched and will likely rejoin the team and pitch in middle relief. He can be avoided in all formats.
