Aramis Ramirez has retired from Major League baseball.
After 18 professional seasons, Aramis Ramirez is hanging up the cleats. The three time all-star ended up hitting .283 with 386 HR, 1,417 RBI. He was in the middle of every lineup he was a part of and contributed greatly to each team he played for. His best years were spent in Chicago where he blasted 239 of his career long flys. He was a great player for a long time and will be missed by fans everywhere!
Aramis Ramirez is not in the Pirates' starting lineup Sunday.
It would appear to just be a day off as the Pirates look ahead to their wild card game against the Cubs this week. Josh Harrison will handle the work at the hot corner and bat second Sunday.
Pirates 3B Aramis Ramirez left Tuesday's game with tightness in his left groin.
Ramirez hasn't done a ton with Pittsburgh, but he does have a four-game hitting streak going and hits in six of his last seven. The Pirates are in Colorado Wednesday and Thursday, so it would be a shame if Ramirez had to sit out in such a friendly hitting environment.
Aramis Ramirez went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and one run scored against the Rockies on Monday.
Ramirez is now slashing .259/.304/.429 with six home runs ad 32 RBI through 170 at-bats since joining the Pirates as he continues to be a solid part of the team's playoff push. With only two weeks left in the season it is hard to make him a fantasy add at this point, but he is still a solid cheap DFS play if the matchup is right.
