Tejada last appeared in the majors in 2019 when he got into six games for the Mets. He didn't play professionally last season after splitting the 2021 campaign at the Triple-A level between the White Sox and Phillies.

Tejada was recently cut loose by the Phillies after batting .231/.341/.262 at the Triple-A level. This is just a depth addition for the White Sox.

Tejada hit .231/.341/.262 across 264 plate appearances at Triple-A Lehigh Valley prior to his release earlier this week. The 31-year-old infielder is merely organizational infield depth at this stage of his career.

Tejada has logged just nine plate appearances in the majors since 2017. He's a depth piece for Philly.
