Jose Altuve (hamstring) is back in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Royals.
Altuve returns to Houston’s lineup at second base and batting second on Monday evening against Kansas City following a one-game absence due to right hamstring tightness. The 35-year-old veteran fantasy stalwart is getting more brittle as he ages, but he’s managed to avoid the injured list this season while transitioning to a brand-new multi-position role. Fantasy managers can confidently lock him into weekly lineups.
Jose Altuve (hamstring) is absent from the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Reds.
Astros manager Joe Espada expressed optimism that Altuve, who will undergo further evaluation and testing following an early exit from Saturday’s contest due to right hamstring tightness, could potentially return to the lineup in a day or two. It doesn’t sound like he’s headed to the injured list at the moment. It’ll be Brendan Rodgers at second base with rookie Zach Dezenzo in left field for Sunday’s game against the Reds.
Jose Altuve was removed from Saturday’s game against the Reds in the third inning with right hamstring tightness.
He went 0-for-1 with a walk before leaving. It’s worth noting that Altuve’s exit comes in a game where Houston is trailing by five runs, so there’s at least a chance this winds up being precautionary. He’ll likely undergo some testing and imaging before Sunday’s finale, but it seems likely that the 35-year-old will be out of that lineup for at least that game. Brendan Rodgers took over at second base after his departure.
Jose Altuve hit a two-run homer while driving in three runs in the Astros’ 8-5 win over the Tigers on Monday.
