Parson passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment last Friday and is now free to sign elsewhere. The 31-year-old journeyman made four relief appearances for Cleveland after being acquired from the Blue Jays back in mid-April.

Parsons was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for the newly acquired Spencer Howard. Parsons had a 6.00 ERA in four appearances with Cleveland this season. The club has seven days to trade Parsons or place him on waivers.

The 30-year-old right-hander is heading back to the minors after getting the call up for just one day to fill the 27th roster spot for Cleveland during its doubleheader on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old hurler had served as the 27th man for Saturday’s doubleheader against the Yankees, and he’ll rejoin the bullpen with Eli Morgan (shoulder) heading to the injured list. Parsons has made one appearance with the Guardians this season, striking out a pair of batters over two scoreless innings.
