The Mariners announced on Friday that outfielder Victor Robles (shoulder) isn’t expected to require surgery.
The 27-year-old outfielder had additional imaging done and it’s healing as the team had hoped it would, so for now he won’t require any surgical procedure. If all continues to go according to plan, he could be ready to return to action at some point around the All-Star break.
Mariners transferred OF Victor Robles from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
It’s just a procedural move that the Mariners needed to make to clear room on the 40-man roster for Casey Lawrence. Robles is expected to miss at least another three months while recovering from a dislocated shoulder, and there’s a chance he won’t return in 2025.
A fracture was found in Victor Robles’s dislocated shoulder, and the Mariners currently believe he’ll miss about 12 weeks.
Robles will avoid surgery for now, but if it fails to heal over the next six weeks, that will become an option. Dominic Canzone figures to be the biggest beneficiary of Robles’s absence, though he didn’t start in his return to the majors Monday. Dylan Moore is also in line for more playing time, especially if the Mariners want Jorge Polanco to DH frequently.
Mariners placed OF Victor Robles on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder injury.
Mariners general manager Justin Hollander told reporters Robles will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the shoulder injury that he suffered during Sunday’s game against the Giants when he crashed into netting in the right-field corner while making a phenomenal catch. There should be an update on his status at some point later this week, but fantasy managers should anticipate him missing at least a couple weeks, even in a best-case scenario. It’ll be Dominic Canzone coming up to take his spot on Seattle’s active roster.
