Tyler O’Neill is not in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game against the Angels.
The Orioles just activated O’Neill off the 10-day injured list Friday, and they’ll likely give him a day or two off to make sure his neck injury doesn’t flare up. Heston Kjerstad and Ryan O’Hearn will be the corner outfielders for Saturday’s bout against the Halos.

As anticipated, the 29-year-old slugger will return to the Orioles’ lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Angels. Before landing on the injured list with inflammation in his neck, O’Neill was hitting .215/.284/.385 with a pair of homers, 10 RBI and a 21/5 K/BB ratio through his first 74 plate appearances. He’ll start in right field and bat sixth against Kyle Hendricks and the Halos on Friday evening in Los Angeles.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters he’s hopeful O’Neill will return for this weekend’s series against the Angels out in Los Angeles. The 29-year-old slugging outfielder, who has been out since late April with neck inflammation, went 2-for-6 in a pair of rehab contests.

O’Neill was at DH in his rehab debut and will likely need a handful of games over the remainder of the week before he’s ready to return to Baltimore. The 29-year-old slugging outfielder has been out since April 26 with neck inflammation.
