2025 Player Outlook

An elbow injury cut short Glasnow's season, and he was unavailable for the Dodgers World Series run. Thankfully, the injury was diagnosed as tendinitis and did not require surgery. Glasnow is expected to have a normal ramp-up for the 2025 season, where he will look to build on the successful 22 starts he made last season. His strikeout rate (32.2 percent) and walk rate (6.7 percent) were both significantly better than league average last season, and all ERA estimators showed he deserved better results than his 3.49 ERA, including his 2.65 xERA.

Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts told reporters after Sunday’s victory that he expects Tyler Glasnow (calf) to make his next scheduled start.

The 31-year-old hurler was lifted from Sunday’s start against the Rangers due to cramping in both of his calves. Glasnow said after the game that he was experiencing cramping in both calves, but that has been drinking fluids and is already feeling much improved. The right-hander dealt with a similar issue during the 2024 season and didn’t need to miss any time. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on the situation, but it sounds like he should be ready to go for Sunday’s showdown against the Pirates.

Tyler Glasnow exited Sunday’s start against the Rangers with an apparent right ankle injury.

Not good. Glasnow left Sunday’s start at Globe Life Field with a trainer after throwing just one pitch at the outset of the fifth inning. He appeared to be dealing with a right ankle issue. It’s worth noting that Dodgers manager Dave Roberts came out to check on him during the previous frame, but he was allowed to finish the inning. The 31-year-old fantasy ace struck out six and scattered four baserunners over four shutout frames. There should be an update on his status shortly.

Tyler Glasnow pitched well in a no-decision against the Cubs on Sunday, allowing two runs on three hits over six strong frames.

The 31-year-old right-hander racked up seven strikeouts on the evening while allowing only one free pass. All of the damage done against him came via the long ball, with Pete Crow-Armstrong socking a solo dinger in the third inning and Michael Busch blasting one of his own in the sixth. Unfortunately for Glasnow, that was enough to hang a loss on him in this one. He generated seven swings and misses on 98 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 22 percent. Still 1-0 on the season, he’ll carry a disappointing 4.85 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and a 17/9 K/BB ratio (13 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Rangers in Arlington.

Tyler Glasnow was torched for five runs over two innings on Sunday in a no-decision against the Phillies.

Glasnow retired six of the first eight batters he faced over two scoreless frames before melting down in spectacular fashion when he walked four batters and uncorked a wild pitch before being mercifully lifted from the disastrous frame. He wound up being charged with four additional runs when lefty reliever Alex Vesia served up a grand slam to Nick Castellanos immediately following his departure. Not great. The more shocking aspect here is that Glasnow wound up with a no-decision after Los Angeles’ offense rallied to take him off the hook for a loss. His velocity was down slightly across the board, but not enough to be a cause for alarm. The implosion comes as a shock after he struck out eight over five shutout innings last week in his season debut against the Braves. He’ll attempt to turn things around on Saturday when he faces the Cubs in Los Angeles.
