Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors reports that the Orioles re-signed INF Terrin Vavra to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Vavra returns to the Orioles organization after spending time in the Baltimore and Seattle organization in 2024. He’ll be a depth piece in Triple-A Norfolk barring something unforeseeable.
Orioles signed INF Terrin Vavra to a minor league contract.
The Mariners claimed Vavra off waivers from the Orioles on Aug. 25, only to DFA him six days later. He declared free agency after clearing waivers, and this puts him back in the organization he’s spent the rest of the last four years with. The 27-year-old will return to Triple-A Norfolk. He’s hit .254/.331/.304 in 159 career major league plate appearances.
Terrin Vavra elected free agency after being sent outright to Triple-A Tacoma.
Rather than stick around the Seattle organization, Vavra will hit the market with just three weeks left in the season; less than that in the MiLB campaigns. The 27-year-old will likely see interest from a team looking for infield depth.
Mariners designated INF/OF Terrin Vavra for assignment.
Vavra was with the M’s for less than a week after being claimed off of waivers from the Orioles. He’s talented enough that he could once again pique another team’s interest on waivers.
