Cardinals sent INF/OF Taylor Motter to Triple-A Memphis.
Motter predictably went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 33-year-old journeyman will presumably stick around as extra organizational depth over the final few weeks of the regular season.
Cardinals designated INF/OF Taylor Motter for assignment.
It’s the third time this season that Motter has been designated for assignment by the Cardinals. Motter has been selected and designated for assignment twice by the Cardinals this year. The 33-year-old veteran was batting .255/.343/.438 across 236 plate appearances at Triple-A Memphis. José Fermin was optioned to the minors in a corresponding transaction.

It appears that Motter will remain with the Cardinals at Triple-A Memphis as extra organizational position player depth after going unclaimed on waivers. The 33-year-old veteran utility specialist was designated for assignment over the weekend.
