Red Sox re-signed RHP Sterling Sharp to a minor league contract.
Sharp made four relief appearances for the Marlins during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. He was cut loose by the Nationals in early August and wound up latching on with the Red Sox a few days later. The 27-year-old righty reliever returns to Boston's system as extra organizational relief depth after posting a serviceable 5.45 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 90/42 K/BB ratio across 100 2/3 innings (25 appearances, 20 starts) last season between the Double-A and Triple-A levels. He remains an interesting relief project for the Red Sox.
