Rockies signed LHP Stephen Gonsalves to a minor league contract.
Gonsalves was cut loose by the Dodgers last week and quickly found a new home with the division-rival Rockies. The 29-year-old lefty hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the 2021 campaign and represents extra organizational relief depth for Colorado at Triple-A Albuquerque.

Gonsalves was a notable pitching prospect with the Twins back a few years ago, but hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2021 season when he made three relief appearances for the Red Sox. The 29-year-old southpaw signed a minor league pact with Los Angeles back in mid-January and never wound up making it to Dodger Stadium.

Gonsalves last appeared in the majors with the Red Sox back in 2021 when he made three relief appearances. The 29-year-old southpaw was limited to just 22 appearances (five starts) last year in the Cubs’ minor league system. He’ll serve as extra organizational relief depth for the Dodgers entering 2024.

Gonsalves was a highly-regarded pitching prospect in the Twins' system a few years ago and made three relief appearances for the Red Sox last season.
