Angels signed RHP Shaun Anderson to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 30-year-old right-hander appeared in six games between the Rangers and Marlins during the 2024 campaign, registering an underwhelming 8.27 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and a 10/1 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings. He’ll add bullpen depth for the Halos.

Anderson, 30, will have the option to elect free agency or report back to Jacksonville with the hope of making the Marlins with a strong showing in the Grapefruit League.

Anderson was designated for assignment a little over a month ago. Now he’s back and the Marlins had an open 40-man roster spot so no move was necessary other than optioning George Soriano. Anderson has a 9.64 ERA in five appearances (two starts) with the Rangers and Marlins this year.

Anderson predictably went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last Friday. The 29-year-old journeyman righty has the option to elect free agency, but will probably elect to stick around with Miami as emergency pitching depth.
