Rockies released OF Scott Schebler.
Schebler signed a minor league contract with the Rockies back in - and has been released after hitting .243/.307/.411 with seven homers and three steals in 238 plate appearances for Triple-A Albuquerque. The 31-year-old outfielder has appeared in 394 games in the majors since 2015.
Rockies reassigned OF Scott Schebler, OF Bret Boswell, INF Kyle Holder, and INF/OF Tim Lopes to minor league camp.
Schebler signed a minor league contract with the Rockies earlier this month. The 31-year-old outfielder has logged just 35 total plate appearances at the major league level since the beginning of 2020.
Rockies signed OF Scott Schebler to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 31-year-old outfielder struggled in his brief time with the Angels during the 2021 season, hitting just .147 with a cringe-inducing 17/0 K/BB ratio in just 34 plate appearances. The results at Triple-A weren't much better, as he slashed just .216/.295/.400 in 285 plate appearances. Schebler did smack 30 homers for the Reds back in 2017 though, so perhaps the Rockies are hoping that he can recapture some of that magic in 2022.
Scott Schebler has elected free agency.
Schebler has decided to try to latch on with another organization rather than accept an outright assignment. He went just 5-for-34 during his brief time with the Angels in 2021.
