Scott Kingery went 5-for-6 with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored in Tuesday’s game for Triple-A Salt Lake
The one-time top prospect is 9-for-18 to start the season in Triple-A with one home run, five runs scored, and three RBI. He could fill a utility role for the Angels should any opening come available in the next few weeks or months.
Angels sent INF Scott Kingery outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Kingery went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 30-year-old former top prospect hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since the 2022 campaign.
Angels designated INF/OF Scott Kingery for assignment.
Kingery’s removal from Los Angeles’ 40-man roster extinguishes any hope of making the club’s season-opening roster. The 30-year-old was acquired from the Phillies last November and has batted .138 (4-for-29) this spring in Cactus League action.
Angels and INF/OF Scott Kingery avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract.
No word yet on the financial terms of the agreement. The 30-year-old former top prospect was acquired from the Phillies in early November in exchange for cash considerations. His versatility should allow him to secure a bench spot on the Halos’ Opening Day roster as long as he doesn’t completely fall on his face during Cactus League play.
