2025 Player Outlook

Helsley led the league with 49 saves last season, and he also recorded seven wins while posting a 2.04 ERA and 29.7 percent strikeout rate. His strikeout rate dipped below 30 percent for the first time since 2021, but increased usage of his slider led to more swings out of the zone, and the second-highest SwStr% (17.3%) of his career. His strikeout rate should rebound into the low-to-mid thirties in 2024, and again, you don’t have to be on the best team in baseball to rack up save opportunities. The veteran righty should be within the first three to five closers off the board on draft day, and rightfully so.
