Red Sox sent RHP Robert Stock outright to Triple-A Worcester.
Stock was designated for assignment and went unclaimed. The right-hander will be a depth option in the minors in 2025, and Boston will need to select his contract again in order to add him to the MLB roster.

Stock allowed one run over two innings Monday in his first MLB appearance since 2022, but now he’s getting swapped out for a fresh arm. It’s possible someone will want to claim him as an innings-eating middle reliever.

Welcome back to the majors, Robert Stock. The 35-year-old, who pitched in 10 games for the Red Sox in 2020, had a 4.71 ERA in 72 2/3 innings for four teams from 2018-21. He’s since reinvented himself as a sidearmer, and he excelled in Mexico last year. He opened this season by pitching 8 1/3 scoreless innings with a 12/3 K/BB in two appearances for Worcester. The Red Sox will use him in middle relief for now.
