Rafael Devers went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a fifth straight hitless game Thursday.

It seemed that Devers was all fixed up two weeks ago, but he’s since gone 4-for-40 with one homer in 13 games. He has walked 12 times during the span, and he’s not nearly as lost as he was during the first week of the season. Still, it’s been quite the roller coaster season thus far; his two five-game hitless streaks this season are one more than he had totaled in his first eight seasons.

Devers put the first three runs of the game on the board with a three-run blast off Shane Smith in the fifth inning. He was later walked in the ninth inning. It was only the second homer for the 28-year-old third baseman. After a slow start, Devers is slashing .229/.343/.386 with 12 runs and 12 RBI across 99 plate appearances.

Rafael Devers went 2-for-4 with two doubles in a loss to the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

His two doubles were 110.4 mph and 98.7 mph off the bat. There was a lot of consternation surrounding Devers’ cold start to the season, but he’s slashing .265/.373/.429 on the season after 13 games. The power will likely come as he continues to round into form.

Rafael Devers went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles, four runs scored and three RBI as the Red Sox routed the Cardinals in the nightcap of Sunday’s doubleheader.

Devers had already homered and driven in a pair of runs in the first game on Sunday. He smacked a one-out single off of Miles Mikolas in the opening inning and scored the game’s first run on an RBI single by Wilyer Abreu. He then walked and scored in the second, singled and scored in the third and laced an RBI double to center in the fifth inning that increased the Red Sox’ lead to 11-2. He finished his day with a two-run double in the sixth and scored on an RBI double by Alex Bregman. It seems like his early-season struggles are now in the rearview mirror as he’s slashing .263/.404/.421 with a homer and eight RBI.
