Guilmet was booted from the Marlins' 40-man roster earlier this month and has opted to search for a new opportunity in free agency this offseason. The 34-year-old righty made two relief appearances at the big-league level this season.

Guilmet made only two appearances for the Fish in 2021 after joining the organization on a minor league contract in mid-April. The 34-year-old right-hander is officially off the 40-man roster.

The 34-year-old hurler will add an extra arm to the Marlins bullpen for the final weekend of the season. He registered a 3.78 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 67/13 K/BB ratio over 52 1/3 innings at Triple-A this season.

Guilmet cleared waivers after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 34-year-old righty fired a scoreless inning on July 28 in his lone appearance at the major-league level this season. He'll continue to serve as organizational relief depth moving forward.
