The 39-year-old was plagued by shoulder and hamstring injuries in 2019, which may have helped contribute to a 5.00 ERA over 20 appearances. It's unclear whether a team will take a chance on the right-hander after he only managed to log 42.1 innings over the past two seasons due to injuries.

Neshek underwent hamstring surgery Tuesday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Injuries have limited Neshek to just 32.1 innings over the last two seasons. Now 39 years old, there's a chance that the injuries drive him to retirement, though he's yet to indicate any plans in that direction. He recorded an ERA of 3.62 or below in seven straight seasons prior to 2019, posting ERAs below 2.00 in three of those campaigns, so he'll likely find work if he wants it.

Neshek (hamstring) will not pitch again this season, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

The veteran right-hander was hoping to return at some point in September after receiving a PRP injection during the All-Star break, but the PRP shot did not the desired effect. He will head into the offseason as a 39-year-old free agent. Neshek had really good numbers in 2018 and will probably be able to find a major-league role if he decides to continue his career.

Neshek (hamstring) may not return before the end of the season, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Neshek has been sidelined since mid-June with a balky hamstring. He received a PRP injection over the All-Star break, though it didn't have the desired effect. The veteran reliever is contemplating another injection or surgery, either of which would prematurely end his season.
