Espino heads back to the minors after being lit up for four runs over four innings on Wednesday in a spot start against the Orioles. The soft-tossing 37-year-old journeyman righty might get another couple spot starts over the final few months, but he’s obviously not a recommended fantasy option.

Espino drew the starting assignment for Wednesday’s matinee at Camden Yards after Toronto pivoted to a full-scale teardown at the trade deadline. He struck out one and handed out three free passes. He’ll presumably take the ball next Wednesday in a rematch against the Orioles back in Canada.
