Nick Tropeano elected to opt out of his contract with the Rangers and is now a free agent.
Tropeano was signed to a minor league contract by the Ranges with an invite to spring training, but didn't make the club and posted a 3.05 ERA with a 21/17 K/BB ratio over his 12 appearances and 20 2/3 innings with Triple-A Round Rock. He's now free to sign with another club, but the interest might be minimal.

Tropeano split time between the Giants and Mets during the 2021 campaign, logging five major-league appearances in the process. The 31-year-old righty spent the majority of last season at the Triple-A level for the Mets, Giants and Dodgers organizations, posting a respectable 3.89 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 51/24 K/BB ratio across 46 1/3 innings (17 appearances, nine starts). He'll compete for a spot on the Rangers' Opening Day roster this spring.
