Rumbelow was released by the Mariners in mid-June and subsequently moved to independent ball, only to make his way to the minors with the Mets. The 27-year-old had a 8.17 ERA, 2.07 WHIP and 22:15 K:BB over 25.1 innings at Triple-A Tacoma prior to his release.

Rumbelow struggled to an 8.17 ERA, 2.07 WHIP and 22:15 K:BB in 15.1 innings with Triple-A Tacoma before being released by Seattle. The right-hander will now look to latch on elsewhere as organizational pitching depth.

It's hardly surprising that Rumbelow's 9.19 Triple-A ERA wasn't appealing enough for another team to claim him off waivers. He'll remain in the Mariners' organization but doesn't appear to be close to returning to the big leagues.

Rumbelow made three appearances for the Mariners back in March but was removed from the 25-man roster after allowing four runs while recording just four outs. Since then, he's allowed 16 earned runs in 15.2 frames for Triple-A Tacoma, leading to him being removed from the 40-man roster as well. Andrew Moore was claimed off waivers in a corresponding move.
