Nick Pivetta allowed three runs with nine strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a win over the Giants on Tuesday.
Pivetta tossed three quiet innings before Willy Adames took him deep for a solo homer in the fourth inning. He gave up two hits to start the sixth that would bring in a run. Pivetta would be relieved with one out and one runner on. The inherited runner would eventually come in to score. He struck out nine. The 32-year-old right-hander will take an excellent 1.78 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, and a 39/8 K/BB ratio across 35 1/3 innings into a start against the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Sunday.
Nick Pivetta allowed only a pair of singles over seven innings in the Padres’ 2-0 shutout of the Tigers on Tuesday.
Pivetta struck out six and got a bunch of routine flyouts in a breezy, 91-pitch outing. It was a three-hitter in all, as Jason Adam gave up one last single in the eighth before Robert Suarez closed things out. Pivetta is sure to start giving up some homers, but there’s a good chance he’ll continue to maintain mixed-league value while pitching in easily the best environment of his career. He’s 4-1 with a 1.20 ERA, and he’s due to face the Giants at home next week.
Nick Pivetta tossed six innings of one-run ball and fanned six Wednesday in a win over the Cubs.
Pivetta again went without allowing a homer today. It figured that the move to San Diego would be quite a positive in that regard, and he’s given up just one in four starts, with that coming in his lone road outing. In Petco thus far, he’s allowed a total of one run and eight hits over 20 innings, producing all three of his victories. He’ll pitch in Detroit next time out, and he’s still a quality option there.
Nick Pivetta struck out 10 over seven scoreless frames to help the Padres to an 8-0 win Friday over the Rockies.
