Castellanos is back at DH and batting fifth after making a precautionary exit from Friday’s one-sided affair as he continues to manage an ongoing hip issue.

Castellanos went 2-for-3 with a double before being lifted from Friday’s contest out of an abundance of caution in the fifth inning solely because the Phillies were up by a touchdown at the time. Philadelphia manager Rob Thomson told reporters afterwards that the veteran outfielder, who has been working through a hip flexor issue, is expected to be in the lineup for Saturday’s showdown.

Castellanos was removed from Thursday’s bout against the Giants with hip flexor tightness, but it was purely precautionary. The 33-year-old should be all systems go for the weekend series against Miami.

It’s unclear when exactly Castellanos sustained the injury, but he was replaced when the Phillies took the field defensively to start the seventh inning. He’ll head for further testing to determine the severity of the injury.
