Mike Wright is not listed on the lineup card for the Orioles, indicating he has been optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.
That was a short stay for the righty. He was recalled on Wednesday when Chris Tillman hit the DL, but failed to impress in two appearances, allowing two earned runs over four innings. There was some though that he was promoted to join the rotation, but that is not the plan at this point, apparently. Ubaldo Jimenez will slot in to the rotation while TIllman is on the shelf.

Thursday the Orioles recalled RHP Mike Wright from AAA Norfolk. After being optioned back in mid-June, Wright has posted a 0.87 ERA with a 0.92 WHIP during 20.2 innings of work. It's either him or Ubaldo Jimenez getting the start Friday.
Orioles have announced Mike Wright will start Friday's game.
This is Wright's normal turn in the rotation so this news isn't surprising. Wright has been inconsistent this season, but the bad has outweighed the good as indicated by his 5.31 ERA and 1.48 WHIP.
Mike Wright allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out six batters over seven innings against the Tigers on Saturday.
