Padres reassigned INF Mike Brosseau, INF/OF Trenton Brooks and INF/OF Clay Dungan to minor league camp.
Brosseau and Brooks were in camp this spring as non-roster invitees fighting for bench roles. They’ll head to Triple-A El Paso as extra organizational depth to open the year.
Padres signed INF Mike Brosseau to a minor league contract.
Brosseau played in 244 major league games, hitting .242/.313/.428, from 2019-23, but he spent all of last year in the minors and wound up batting .263/.356/.417 with 15 homers in 405 plate appearances for the Triple-A affiliates of the Royals and Mets. If the season started tomorrow, Brosseau would probably claim a spot on a barren Padres bench. The club is certain to keep adding, though.
Mets signed veteran INF Mike Brosseau to minor league contract.
Brosseau was released by the Royals last week and now finds himself with the Mets organization where he’ll be a utility depth piece for New York. The 30-year-old journeyman has played SS, 2B, 3B, 1B, RF, LF and has even pitched in the majors.
Royals released INF Mike Brosseau.
Brosseau signed a minor league contract with Kansas City back in - and wound up batting .107 (3-for-28) with three RBI in nine games for Triple-A Omaha. The 30-year-old infielder got into 29 contests last year for the Brewers and feels like an obvious candidate to flourish overseas in either Japan or Korea, where he’d certainly benefit financially as well.
