On a night where the Royals tallied just four hits and four walks in total, Duffy actually stood out for reaching base twice. He wasn't even in the team's initial lineup, but was a late addition after Michael Massey was scratched due to a lacerated finger. The veteran infielder is now slashing .316/.375/.405 with one homer and eight RBI in 88 plate appearances on the season.

Duffy signed a minor league pact with the Royals in late January and winds up securing a spot on their season-opening roster as a reserve infielder.

Duffy gave the Angels their only run of the contest when he worked a game-tying RBI single in the top of the ninth. The Halos would survive just a little while longer before succumbing to the A's in the 10th inning. In 224 at-bats this season -- Duffy missed significant time with lower back spasms over the summer -- the veteran infielder is hitting .254/.313/.317 with two homers and 16 RBI.

Duffy got the Angels offense started with his go-ahead two-run shot off of Cole Ragans in the second inning. He also singled and came around to score on an RBI single by Jo Adell in the sixth inning. The 31-year-old has been almost a complete zero from a fantasy perspective, slashing .260/.311/.328 with only two homers, 14 RBI and zero stolen bases over 206 plate appearances.
