Braves signed RHP Matt Carasiti to minor league contract.
Carasiti had a 10.38 ERA in seven appearances out of the bullpen with the Rockies this year. He’ll head to Triple-A and serve as organizational depth for the Braves.

Carasiti has the option of becoming a free agent. The 32-year-old was DFA’d over the weekend after posting a 10.38 ERA in 8 2/3 innings for the Rockies.

Carasiti has been jettisoned from Colorado’s 40-man roster after surrendering five runs over his last two relief appearances this week against the Cardinals. The 32-year-old righty reliever holds a calamitous 10.38 ERA, 2.19 WHIP and 7/3 K/BB ratio across 8 2/3 innings (seven appearances) this season in the majors.

The 32-year-old right-hander had been stationed at the Triple-A level where he posted a 5.91 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and a 26/11 K/BB ratio across his 21 1/3 innings. He’ll give manager Bud Black another option to deploy in the middle innings.
