Bowman has been added to Baltimore’s 40-man roster and figures to open the regular season in the club’s bullpen. The 33-year-old journeyman re-signed as a minor-league free agent during the offseason after making 25 appearances last year in the majors between four different organizations.

Bowman will get a $1.1 million prorated contract and the deal comes with the potential for $400,000 more in incentives. The right-hander elected free agency after being outrighted off the Baltimore roster in November, but he’ll remain in the Baltimore organization to push for a spot in the bullpen.
