2025 Player Outlook
Bryant has not played more than 80 games in any of his three seasons in Colorado, and he hasn't been all that productive when he has been on the field the last two seasons. He is now entering his age 33 season, and it seems unlikely he will ever get back to above average production.

Kris Bryant (back) told reporters Sunday he’s not considering retirement.
Bryant added that he’s received a couple anti-inflammatory shots to address the inflammation in his back and has no plans to give up on a potential return. The 33-year-old was diagnosed earlier this month with lumbar degenerative disease and is expected to have to manage the ongoing issue for the rest of his career. The assumption is that he’ll be ready to return when first eligible, but that hardly seems like a guarantee at this point.
Rockies manager Bud Black told reporters that Kris Bryant (back) expected to return after a minimum stint on the injured list.
That’s the good news, but Black also cautioned that this is something Bryant and the Rockies are going to have to manage and address going forward. The 33-year-old was diagnosed with a degenerative disc disease, and it’s likely this will be something that he’ll have to deal with for the rest of his career. Bryant can’t be recommended a fantasy hold, even with Coors Field at his disposal for home games.
Rockies placed INF/OF Kris Bryant the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 13, with lumbar degenerative disc disease.
It’s not what you want to hear. Bryant has been a non-factor for fantasy purposes since signing a massive seven-year, $182 million contract with his hometown Rockies back in 2022. The ominous diagnosis, which is a syndrome associated with wear and tear on a spinal disc causing lower back pain, further clouds his immediate and long-term future.
Kris Bryant went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI as the Rockies crushed the Athletics on Sunday afternoon at Coors Field.
Bryant plated Ezequiel Tovar with a single in the first inning that tied the game at 2-2. The 33-year-old slugger also smacked a leadoff double in the third inning and scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Tyler Freeman. Even with the two-hit afternoon though, Bryant is slashing a gruesome .174/.240/.217 with only one RBI on the season and remains a useless option in most fantasy formats.
