Grimm passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment by the Athletics back on May 28. The 33-year-old veteran should attract some interest on the open market after posting a serviceable 4.11 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 11/7 K/BB ratio across 15 1/3 innings (15 appearances) this season at the major-league level.

Grimm, 33, makes the roster after signing a minor league contract with the A's in December. He'll be a low-leverage reliever while a member of the Oakland staff.

Grimm spent the entire 2021 season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Mariners and posted a relatively underwhelming 4.37 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 47 1/3 innings there. The 33-year-old reliever will function as minor league depth for Oakland leading into the 2022 campaign.
