He's away from the team for personal reasons. Nicasio was added to the Rangers' roster just a few days ago and was hammered for six runs in his lone appearance on Monday night, including the much-discussed grand slam from Fernando Tatis Jr.

Nicasio didn't make the team as a non-roster invitee but finds himself back in the majors now. He'll work in middle relief.

The veteran right-handers were in spring training as non-roster invitees and now will join the Rangers' summer camp rosters. The team is now up to 57 players in summer camp.

Nicasio signed a non-guaranteed minor league contract with the Rangers in mid-January after struggling to a 4.75 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and 45/21 K/BB ratio over 47 1/3 innings last season for the Phillies. The 33-year-old right-hander probably won't be a member of the Opening Day roster in Texas, even if he's healthy.
