As a result, Pavin Smith is getting his very first start against a lefty this season. He’s 0-for-3 with two walks against southpaws while excelling in his platoon role. Naylor has hit .233/.281/.300 in 32 plate appearances against lefties.

With his two-hit afternoon, the 27-year-old first baseman is now slashing .322/.397/.475 with a homer, 10 RBI and four stolen bases in his first season with the D’Backs.
