2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: Leclerc finished the regular season with four saves as he gained the closers job. The right-hander still struggled with his control, 4.42 walks per nine innings, but he also struck out more than 10 batters per nine innings. He doesn't put the ball on the ground, 29.1%, and there is always going to be some risk involved.
2024 Outlook: Leclerc has not saved more than 14 games in a season, and the recent signing of David Robertson does make his hold on the job a little less strong. While he had a 2.68 ERA last year, the other metrics go all the way up to a 4.72 xFIP, there is some volatility in play.
