Braves signed RHP Jordan Weems to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Weems, 32, joins on with Atlanta after spending the 2024 season with the Nationals. The southpaw will compete for one of the final spots in the Atlanta bullpen, but more likely profiles as roster depth.

The 31-year-old hurler was designated for assignment earlier in the week, but he passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra bullpen depth for the Nats at the Triple-A level. Weems holds a 6.70 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and a 35/24 K/BB ratio over 41 2/3 innings in 41 appearances at the big-league level this season.
