Moscot hasn't pitched in affiliated baseball since undergoing Tommy John surgery back in July of 2016. Across parts of two seasons with the Reds, the right-hander compiled a career 6.82 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in 33 innings (eight starts).

Jon Moscot cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Louisville.

Moscot underwent Tommy John surgery and will not be available for at least another nine months or so. Considering this, there isn't much of a reason for him to remain on the MLB roster, or even the 40-man, so his outrighting to Triple-A makes sense.

Moscot had been on the DL at Triple-A, with elbow inflammation, and it is now apparent why he is witting out of action. He will be out all of 2017, but should be ready to return for the 2018 season. Not that he was someone you were planning to draft next season, with a 8.02 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over his 21 and 1/3 innings this season with the Reds.

Jon Moscot was placed on the Triple-A 7-day disabled list at Triple-A Louisville with right elbow inflammation.

Moscot is dealing with some elbow inflammation and they will hope a brief stint on the disabled list will fix the arm problems. Moscot punched out just 13 batters over his last 29 innings, which isn't particularly enticing for the Reds. Leave him in free agency.
