RHP Jon Duplantier signed with the Hansin Tigers of the Nippon Professional Baseball League in Japan.
Duplantier had been with the Braves and Brewers in 2024 but will now head overseas to try to resurrect his professional career.
Brewers signed RHP Jon Duplantier to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Duplantier will be in camp with the Brewers aiming to get back to the majors for the first time since the 2021 season when he made four starts for the Diamondbacks. The 30-year-old right-hander was a notable pitching prospect last decade with Arizona, but never wound up finding his footing in the big leagues, mostly due to injury. At a bare minimum, he represents quality organizational depth, and an interesting reclamation project for Milwaukee, heading into 2025.

Duplantier hasn’t appeared in the majors since 2021 when he made four starts for the Diamondbacks and wound up making 16 relief appearances earlier this year for Triple-A Syracuse in the Mets’ minor league system. The 30-year-old righty was a notable pitching prospect for Arizona last decade, but never wound up finding his footing in the big leagues, mostly due to injury.

He’s merely extra organizational depth for the Mets at this juncture of his career.
