Means is reportedly guaranteed $1 million, while the team option is worth $7.5 million. The former Orioles left-hander underwent Tommy John in June and will be sidelined until at least August of this season. He’ll go on to the active roster for now, but he’ll be placed on the 60-day IL next time the team needs to make a move.

The two sides were first rumored to be circling one another on Sunday and now the deal appears to be finalized. Means had Tommy John surgery in June, so he could be on a path similar to the one Matthew Boyd took in 2024 where he returned to pitch for the Guardians for the final two months of the season. However, the Guardians also have a chance to keep Means around in 2026 if his recovery goes well. He should be off fantasy radars for 2025 though.
