Liranzo is back in the fold with the Yankees as ancillary pitching depth after making a handful of appearances between Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following a stint in the independent Atlantic League. The 28-year-old righty has spent nearly a decade in the minors at this juncture without reaching the big leagues.

Liranzo was released last month by the Nationals and gets another shot in affiliated ball after allowing just one run with an 18/3 K/BB ratio across 10 innings (eight appearances) for the Lancaster Barnstormers of the independent Atlantic League. The 28-year-old journeyman right-hander has yet to reach the majors, but represents an interesting gamble for New York.

Liranzo was cut loose earlier this week after making just a pair of starts for Triple-A Rochester in the Nationals' minor league system. The 28-year-old righty has yet to reach the majors and has been pitching in affiliated ball since 2012.

Liranzo was released by the Tigers last August just a few weeks after being traded from the Diamondbacks. The soon-to-be 28-year-old righty has yet to reach the majors and has spent the last decade in the minors. He'll serve as organizational pitching depth for the Nationals this season.
