Jeff Hoffman pitched two scoreless innings in a 7-6 extra innings win over the Orioles on Sunday.
Hoffman entered the game in a tie game in the ninth and kept the Orioles scoreless before sealing the win in the bottom of the 10th by stranding the ghost runner. Hoffman allowed just one hit and struck out four and has a 0.96 ERA on the season. There were plenty of concerns about Hoffman’s arm in spring training, but he looks pretty healthy right now.
Jeff Hoffman earned the win by pitching two innings of scoreless relief in Toronto’s 2-1 extra innings win over the Red Sox on Wednesday.
Hoffman pitched a scoreless ninth and tenth innings with the only runner he allowed being an intentional walk to Wilyer Abreu in the 10th inning. Hoffman struck out three on the day en route to claiming his first win of the season. He has been dynamic for the Blue Jays this season and certainly looks like an upgrade on the 2025 version of Jordan Romano.
Pitching for the fourth time in five days, Jeff Hoffman earned a save despite allowing a run in the ninth Wednesday against the Nationals.
We were surprised Hoffman was available at all today, and it was probably unnecessary to use him in a three-run game against a team that had totaled six runs through the first 26 innings of the series. Still, there he was. Hoffman got two quick outs before giving up a single, an RBI double and a soft infield single. The game ended afterwards because pinch-runner Jacob Young, trying to get the tying run to second base, was thrown out stealing. The Jays have Thursday off, so Hoffman should be good to go on Friday.
Jeff Hoffman worked a perfect ninth with a two-run lead for a save Tuesday against the Nationals.
An easy one for Hoffman, who needed to throw just eight pitches tonight. Still, this was his third appearance in four days, which probably means he’ll be down Wednesday. Yimi García could get a save opportunity then.
