Guerra has accepted the assignment, so he'll remain with the Rays. He has a 6.75 ERA and a 9/18 K/BB ratio in 13 1/3 innings for the Brewers and Rays this season.

Guerra returned to the Rays' organization in late April but was removed from the 40-man roster with Zack Littell taking his place. The 27-year-old had an atrocious 9/18 K/BB ratio and there's a good chance that he'll pass through waivers unclaimed.

Expect the 27-year-old hurler to work around an inning or so in his return to the Rays before turning the ball over to Fleming to work the bulk innings. Guerra was acquired from the Brewers for a player to be named later on Saturday.

The Rays still needed to free up a spot on the 40-man roster after making a multitude of trades on Tuesday, and Guerra wound up pulling the short straw. The 27-year-old hurler posted a 5.00 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 10/11 K/BB ratio over 18 innings between the Padres and Rays in 2022. Given the lack of quality bullpen options around the league, he could generate some interest on waivers.
