Red Sox released RHP Jake Faria.
Faria has been cut loose to open up a roster spot at Triple-A Worcester after being sent outright to the minors last week when he was removed from Boston’s 40-man roster. The 29-year-old journeyman made one relief appearance this season for the Red Sox. He should be able to latch on somewhere else as extra organizational depth.
