Padres released RHP Jacob Rhame.
The Padres must have determined when setting their minor league rosters that they didn't have room for Rhame. He'll look for another gig elsewhere.
Padres signed RHP Jacob Rhame to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Rhame was with the Angels in 2020 but did not make an appearance at the major league level. The 27-year-old right-hander posted a 6.23 ERA in 47 2/3 innings of relief with the Mets between the 2017-2019 seasons.
Angels sent RHP Jacob Rhame outright to their alternate site camp.
Rhame was put on waivers to be removed from the 40-man roster. After clearing, the right-hander is off the 40-man roster, and can will now be organizational depth for the Angels in the 2020 campaign.
Angels claimed RHP Jacob Rhame off waivers from the Mets.
Rhame, 27, has struggled to a 6.23 ERA over parts of three seasons in the majors, but his minor league track record suggests there might be something more there. That's what the Angels are thinking, anyway.
