Jackie Bradley Jr. went 0-for-3 for Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, leaving him at .202/.261/.333 in 92 plate appearances for the club.

Bradley signed with the Mets in late July after putting up big numbers in indy ball to start the year, but it doesn’t look like he’s going to make it back to the majors at age 34. He previously played for the Royals last year, hitting .133/.188/.210 in 113 plate appearances.

Bradley Jr. was last with the Long Island Ducks of the Independent League, and he registered a 1.204 OPS in his time with the club. The 34-year-old played 43 games last year with the Royals. He’s still a strong defensive player, but he’s unlikely to hit enough to provide fantasy value even if he earned the playing time.

Jackie Bradley Jr. has signed with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League.

Bradley got into 43 games last year for the Royals, and hasn’t given up hope of returning to the majors, but he’s going to start the journey in outside of affiliated ball. The 33-year-old veteran outfielder remains an excellent defender, but simply doesn’t offer enough offensive potential to warrant consideration for a roster spot moving forward.

Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports that free agent outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. is still open to continuing his playing career.

The 33-year-old defensive specialist worked out throughout the winter with an eye toward returning to Major League Baseball in 2024. He hasn’t played since he was cut by the Royals last June though offers very little in the way of offensive production. Regardless of whether or not he winds up with a minor league deal someplace, Bradley Jr. can safely be ignored for fantasy purposes.
