Twins signed RHP Hunter Wood to a minor league contract.
Wood made just five relief appearances last year with the Rangers before undergoing season-ending surgery on his right elbow in late June. The 28-year-old righty was a reliable fixture in the Rays' bullpen a few years ago before injuries derailed his career. He's a decent lottery ticket for the Twins and could provide a lift to their bullpen at some point this season, if healthy.
Hunter Wood has elected free agency.
Wood underwent season-ending surgery on his right elbow in late June after making just five relief appearances with the Rangers this season. The 28-year-old righty could be a nice low-risk gamble for another organization this offseason.
Hunter Wood recently underwent surgery to insert an internal brace into his right elbow.
Wood had already been on the 60-day injured list after injuring his elbow in late May. He is done for the season.
Rangers transferred RHP Hunter Wood to the 60-day injured list.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for waiver claim Tyson Miller. Wood will now be sidelined at least until late July due to a mild ulnar collateral ligament sprain in his right elbow.
