Ramos was one of the few hitters who had any offensive success against Merrill Kelly in a game where the GIants were held to just one run by Kelly and the D-Backs’ bullpen. The three knocks ups his average to .290, and he’s been on fire in the month of May with a .400/.472/,800 slash over his 30 at-bats in that timeframe.

Ramos started the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the first inning and extended the Giants’ lead over the Twins to 3-0 with a two-run home run off Pablo Lopez in the fourth inning. The Giants blew that lead and Ramos tied the game at five with an RBI single in the eighth inning before the Giants ultimately lost in extra innings. Ramos is hitting .278 with 19 RBI and an .830 OPS on the season.

Ramos didn’t waste much time, blasting the third pitch that Kyle Freeland threw for a 430-foot (112.8 mph EV) solo shot to give the Giants an early 1-0 edge. On the season, the 25-year-old outfielder is now hitting .248/.312/.424 to go along with five long balls and 12 RBI.

Ramos won the game on a Little League homer; he rolled a ball to the third base side of the mound and then ran around the bases as pitcher Luke Jackson and first baseman Jake Burger committed throwing errors. Ramos has four hits in two days, putting his average back up to .246. He’s mostly struggled since the first 10 days of the season, batting .213 with no homers and one RBI in his last 20 games.
