Phillies signed RHP Hector Perez to a minor league contract.
Perez will head to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The 27-year-old posted a 4.08 ERA across 53 innings with the Rays Triple-A ballclub before he was designated for assignment in mid-August.

Perez will test the free-agent waters after the Rays sent him outright to Triple-A Durham. Perez had a 4.08 ERA and a 69/30 K/BB ratio in 53 innings before being jettisoned off the 40-man roster.

Perez was called up on Wednesday and allowed one run on three hits in 1/3 of an inning. He was then designated for assignment on Thursday to make room for Andrew Kittredge, who was being activated off the 60-day Injured List. Perez had a 4.08 ERA and a 69/30 K/BB ratio in 53 innings for Triple-A Durham and could be claimed by another team in need of bullpen help.
